This syllabus follows the official EX200 objectives for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. Start with Before You Begin if you still need RHEL 10 installed and registered, then work through the chapters below in order. Each published lesson links to a hands-on tutorial you can run on your own systems.

Plan for two RHEL 10 virtual machines — one primary lab host and one remote peer for SSH, SCP, NFS, autofs, hostname resolution, SSH keys, and firewalld checks once you reach the SSH lesson. Keep the Linux commands cheat sheet open for quick syntax while you learn. Lessons marked Coming soon in the syllabus are on the roadmap.

The course covers shell and file basics, software management, shell scripting, systemd and processes, storage and filesystems, scheduling and time sync, networking, users and sudo, and SELinux — aligned with the live Red Hat objective list (confirm that page before you sit the exam). Registration and CDN access sit in Before You Begin; package workflows continue in Manage Software. Boot targets, firewalld, and overlapping skills are taught once and cross-linked from the lesson that needs them.

When you finish the core chapters, use the RHCSA cheat sheet for command recap and persistence checks. It is for self-study only — not official Red Hat exam content.

What you'll learn

  • Install and register RHEL 10 on lab VMs, and work confidently at the command line
  • Manage packages with DNF and RPM, write RHCSA-sized shell scripts, and operate running systems with systemd
  • Configure GPT partitions, LVM, swap, ext4/XFS/VFAT filesystems, NFS client mounts, and autofs
  • Schedule tasks with cron, at, and systemd timers; synchronize time with chrony; manage GRUB2 on RHEL
  • Configure networking with nmcli, hostname resolution, and firewalld with remote verification
  • Manage local users, groups, password aging, sudo access, SSH keys, umask, and SELinux contexts
  • Review exam-aligned commands with the RHCSA cheat sheet after the core chapters

Prerequisites

  • Basic computer literacy and willingness to work in a text terminal
  • A hypervisor (KVM, VMware, or VirtualBox) with resources for two RHEL 10 virtual machines
  • Red Hat Developer subscription for ISO download and CDN repository access on RHEL labs
  • Two or more extra blank virtual disks on the primary lab VM for storage practice
