Cookie Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026.

This policy describes cookies and browser storage used by GoLinuxCloud, operated by Deepak Prasad in India. It accompanies our Privacy Policy, which explains server-side records and other processing.

Advertising choices are managed separately by AdPushup where its interface is presented. We do not currently provide a site-wide analytics, chatbot or embedded-content consent popup. GA4 loads independently of that advertising interface. This page describes what happens; it does not itself obtain consent.

1. Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small values a browser can send with requests. localStorage persists on your device across visits; sessionStorage is scoped to a browser tab/session. localStorage does not have automatic time-based deletion: an application must check and remove an expired value, or you must clear it.

2. First-party storage

Item Purpose Retention behavior
glc_ai cookie Signed random ID issued through the AI Bot API for per-browser limits and session association. HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax. A derived hash links server chat records; the budget counter uses the raw ID. It contains no question text, name or email. 30 days from issue, unless removed sooner.
theme (localStorage) Remembers your light/dark theme choice. Until cleared.
glc-ai-conversation (localStorage) Saves questions, answers or answer-rendering data, conversation/request IDs, turn number and topic context so the panel follows you across pages/tabs. Latest 14 messages, normally seven exchanges, with a size limit. Removed when next read after 12 hours since the last save; activity refreshes that window.
ai-maximized (localStorage) Remembers whether the bot panel was expanded. Until cleared.

The site does not currently implement a first-party cookie_consent preference cookie. The labels and purposes above describe functionality; they are not a blanket claim that every storage use is exempt from consent requirements.

The broom in the AI panel clears the local conversation. It does not delete server chat records, the budget cookie or all interface preferences. See Privacy Policy §6 for server retention.

3. Google Analytics 4

We use GA4, measurement ID G-ENK40BBCT8, to measure visits and article usage. Our website loads the analytics script automatically after page load, independently of AdPushup's advertising choices.

Common cookie Purpose Provider default
_ga Distinguishes browsers/users for measurement. Two years.
_ga_ENK40BBCT8 (the _ga_<container-id> family) Maintains session state. Two years.

Google's settings, return visits and browser restrictions can affect actual expiry. These are common GA4 cookies, not a guarantee of every value present in every browser. See Google's GA4 cookie documentation.

GA4 processes information such as page locations/titles, referrals, events, device/browser details, approximate geography and identifiers. Google says GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses, although it processes IP addresses during collection. We do not claim that analytics data is completely anonymous. See Google's data safeguards.

The chatbot integration does not send question text, answers, ratings or chatbot-specific events to GA4. GA4 can still measure the containing page. Our Privacy Policy §2.3 describes separate chat records.

To limit GA4, use Google's opt-out add-on in supported browsers or browser/content-blocking controls. Deleting analytics cookies alone does not stop future requests or prevent new cookies from being created.

4. Advertising services and their choices

Our advertising setup loads AdPushup and AdRecover, AdPushup's ad-block recovery service. These services and their advertising partners may use cookies, storage or pixels for delivery, measurement, frequency management, fraud prevention and personalization.

AdPushup supplies an advertising consent interface where its service presents one. Its display and available choices depend on provider configuration and service behavior. We do not claim that this interface controls our independent GA4 tag, AI Bot or all third-party embeds.

The precise advertising cookie names, partners and lifetimes vary by service, region, browser and configuration. Rather than promising fixed expiry periods for cookies not set by our code, we refer you to the provider information and the values actually stored in your browser:

Where available, use the advertising interface to manage advertising preferences. Google's ad controls, YourAdChoices and Your Online Choices offer additional provider-specific controls. They do not necessarily block all ads, cookies or processing, and are not a substitute for a deletion request about information already retained.

5. Cloudflare and external content

Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Depending on enabled security features, it may set cookies such as __cf_bm for bot detection and cf_clearance after a challenge. These are not necessarily present for every reader; lifetimes depend on the feature and configuration. See Cloudflare's cookie documentation.

Giscus/GitHub provide article comments. Loading the component makes provider requests; posting involves GitHub authentication and a public discussion. Some articles also include external videos or code embeds. Those providers can receive request information when the content loads and may use browser storage. We do not promise that all embeds wait for a click or for a site-wide consent choice.

The AI Bot and code runner also use external infrastructure, but their server-side processing is described in Privacy Policy §2, rather than treated as an advertising cookie.

6. Available controls

There is currently no first-party Cookie Settings category selector in the footer. AdPushup's advertising interface, where available, is separate from browser controls and the AI panel's clear function.

You can block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser, use supported analytics opt-out tools, and choose not to submit questions, code or comments. Blocking storage may prevent conversation restoration or other preferences from working. Blocking third-party cookies alone does not necessarily stop first-party GA4 cookies or requests to outside services.

7. DNT and Global Privacy Control

Our own website scripts do not currently implement a general response to Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC). Advertising services may separately handle these signals. We do not promise that a browser signal disables our GA4 tag or AI Bot records. This description does not limit rights you have under applicable law.

8. Clearing browser data

Your browser's site-data settings show the cookies and storage actually present. Removing them deletes the local values; it does not erase information already sent to us, Google, advertising services or other providers. A later visit can recreate values.

Use your browser's help for deleting cookies and site storage, for example Chrome or Firefox. For retained server information, see Privacy Policy §17.

9. International processing

We operate from India and use providers with infrastructure in other countries. Cookies and request data may be processed outside your country. Details and provider links are in our Privacy Policy.

10. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, object to processing, or make privacy-related opt-out requests. Email admin@golinuxcloud.com. Browser deletion and privacy requests serve different purposes; clearing a cookie is not a request to delete historical server data.

11. Changes

We update this page when our storage practices or descriptions change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Publishing an update does not itself obtain consent or replace any additional notice required by law.
